Jason Ballard has always had a creative ability that has set him apart from others. From an early age, he saw things in a different light than others. Because of this, it was only natural that when he picked up the camera, he could not put it down. Thus, Jason pursued a formal education in photography earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the highly acclaimed Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. His formal training at Brooks provided him with a solid foundation with great versatility, while allowing him to develop and express a unique style of photography through each of the images that he produces.

Jason’s unique viewpoint is conveyed in all of his works, ranging form sports and nature to developing custom photography and graphic design for his commercial clients. Jason’s work in sports strives to capture the drive behind every athlete and the heart of every game, while his nature works attempt to expose the viewer to an aspect of the subject that is often overlooked.

In his portraiture, Jason tends to shy away from the studio, preferring to capture candid moments that are often missed, using natural light in natural environments to better capture each individual personality in its true form. His relaxed and candid style allows the beauty and individuality of every person that he photographs to surface all on its own, without the stress and pressure that are sometimes present in the studio.

Finally, always eager to pursue new avenues, Jason has developed a successful business working with a range of commercial clients, providing custom photography and graphic design to meet the needs of each of his clients. Working with a theme, concept, or general idea, Jason works closely with each of his clients to develop distinctive artwork to set the look of their business or residence apart from others. His commercial clients include the JRR Company, McDonalds, Hyundai, the University of Southern California, and various restaurants and small businesses in the greater Los Angeles area.
